近日，爱尔兰都柏林大学（UCD）分别在北京与上海举办了校友会。Andrew J Deeks校长到场致辞并为校友们介绍了UCD近年发展情况。随后，由校友代表Gareth McAllister 和 Lina Xu 等组成的座谈小组就两个不同议题与到场校友们进行了深入探讨。
座谈会北京会场议题为创新-‘Innovation’, 座谈会上海会场议题为连接中国与UCD的一带一路-‘Engineering One Road between China and UCD’。会后，大家继续参加了接下来的茶话会，并相互交流。
‘Innovation’ —— 北京站
创新是UCD为爱尔兰及世界服务使命的第三大支柱。中国已经成为世界“创新型国家”，在人工智能，社交媒体，无人机制造和手机技术等领域在国际上处于领先地位。中国雇主不断寻求最聪明，最优秀的STEM毕业生，不断地力求产业结构多元化。 现在有超过2600名UCD毕业生在中国生活和工作。毫无疑问，他们为推动这一创新作出了重大贡献。
Innovation is the third pillar of UCD’ score mission of service to Ireland and the world.
China has become the ‘Innovation Nation’ of the world and they are leading in the areas of; artificial intelligence, social media, drone manufacturing and mobile phone technology.
Chinese employers are constantly seeking the brightest and the best STEM graduates, in a bid to constantly diversify their industrial mix. With over 2600 UCD graduates living and working in China, there is no doubt but that they have contributed significantly to driving this innovation.
‘Engineering One Road between China and UCD’ —— 上海站
“一带一路”工程是按照古丝绸之路的路线，开辟中欧之间的陆上通道。还有通过南中国海，印度洋，非洲港口，红海和地中海建立的海上航线。这个雄心勃勃的项目将通过铁路，公路，管道，港口和电信基础设施网络将丝绸之路经济带和海上丝绸之路汇集到一起，从而促进中国，亚洲，中东和非洲与欧洲大陆的经济一体化。

The One Belt One Road project is a plan to open up land links between China and Europe, following the path of the ancient Silk Road. There will also be a maritime route established through the South China Sea, the Indian Ocean, African ports, the Red Sea and the Mediterranean. This ambitious project will bring together the Silk Road Economic Belt and the Maritime Silk Road through a vast network of railways, roads, pipelines, ports, and telecommunications infrastructure that will promote economic integration from China, through Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, to Europe.
With over 2600 UCD Alumni living, working and contributing to the Chinese economy, this project will create wonderful opportunities for many of our graduates.
The flagship projects include a $46 billion China-Pakistan corridor, a 3,000km high-speed railway connecting China and Singapore, and gas pipelines across central Asia. Potential benefits exist for Irish Engineering and Technology firms based in China and for any UCD graduates who are working in these firms.
UCD在北京和上海举办的校友会圆满落幕，校友们欢聚一堂畅所欲言，增进交流之余也加深了对中国的了解。会后，希望校友们保持联系，分享各自的生活和工作经历，共同成长。
